The Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg (UKL-HD) is one of the leading medical centers in Europe, with 44 specialized clinical departments. The UKL-HD is constantly developing new methods of diagnosis and treatment at the forefront of biomedical science for the benefit of all patients. The IMBI-HD and the KKS-HD are part of the UKL-HD providing complementary support in methodological planning and conduct as well as GCP-compliant implementation and reporting of clinical trials
The Coordination Centre for Clinical Trials (KKS) Heidelberg, located at Medical Faculty and University Hospital Heidelberg (UKL-HD), Germany is initially being funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). More than 45 staff members support the whole spectrum of clinical research in patients. In order to ensure the quality, the patient protection, compliance with ethical and legal stipulations as well as the application of adequate methods KKS Heidelberg provides the following services to WP6:
-Clinical Monitoring: Investigators’ training, individual site initiation visits, continuous on-site visits for source data verification, to ensure that rights and well-being of study participants are protected and investigators comply with the approved protocols and amendments.
